Said is not heard
When interacting with others, we wonder when people behave differently than they have said, why people stay silent, or why they do not ask questions. We often forget the following:
- said is not heard
- heard is not understood
- understood is not agreed
- agreed is not implemented
Communication is often way more complex than we tend to assume. Most of the time, we are unaware of what already happened that day to the people we interact with, how they feel, or how present they can be at that moment. Our daily striving towards efficiency and effectiveness can be a massive obstacle in establishing the connection needed for communication.
